The prominent invitation marks another significant step forward for the people of SSC-Khaatumo, who have long awaited having their own administration that would represent their interests.
The SSC-Khaatumo leader recently urged the government in Mogadishu to safeguard Somalia’s unity and sovereignty at a dinner his administration organised for an FGS parliamentary delegation. He emphasised the sacrifices people of SSC regions made in this regard.
High-level delegation in Las Anod
The high-level delegation comprising members from the Federal Parliament and the Council of Ministers of the FGS visited Las Anod for two days to hold talks with SSC-Khaatumo. The discussions aimed at strengthening unity and fostering development in the region.
The visit held immense importance as it came in the aftermath of the prolonged conflict that culminated in Gooja’adde on 25 August. It marked a potential turning point for the region’s stability and progress. Upon their arrival in Las Anod, the SSC-Khaatumo administration and the residents warmly welcomed the high-level politicians.
SSC-Khaatumo cabinet secretaries sworn in
Moreover, during last week’s ceremony, nine SSC-Khaatumo cabinet secretaries were sworn in in Las Anod. The secretaries received nominations to form the core of the newly established administration.
Leader Firdhiye announced the cabinet appointments to serve as secretaries in the transitional administration on 12 September. The appointments marked a crucial step in the region’s governance structure. Before taking office, each of the nominated secretaries had to secure a vote of confidence from the SSC-Khaatumo 45-member committee. This would ensure their qualifications and vision align with the administration’s broader goals.
