Scientific forecasts have indicated an increased risk of flooding due to anticipated heavy rains in various parts of the country. Prime Minister Hamza highlighted this concern. “There is a risk of flooding due to the rains that will fall in the country. According to scientific forecasts, these heavy rains can cause damage in parts of the country,” said the Prime Minister. In particular, he warned individuals residing along rivers, who face a high risk of severe flooding. He urged them to stay away from river banks and low-lying areas to ensure their safety and well-being.
Prime Minister Hamza also called upon aid agencies operating in Somalia to collaborate closely with SODMA to jointly prepare for the impending disasters. This coordinated effort between the government and aid agencies will enhance disaster response capabilities and provide more effective and timely assistance to affected communities.
