The Leader of the Executive Council of the SSC-Khaatumo administration, Abdikhadir Ahmed Aw Ali, announced nine cabinet appointments to serve as secretaries in the transitional administration.

Las Anod, Sool region, SSC, SOMALIA. By Dalmar:

The nominations mark a crucial step in the region’s governance structure, but there is one final hurdle to cross before these individuals can officially assume their roles.

Before taking office, each of the nominated secretaries must secure a vote of confidence from the Central Committee of SSC-Khaatumo, ensuring their qualifications and vision align with the administration’s broader goals.

The list of nominated secretaries includes a diverse range of portfolios aimed at addressing the multifaceted needs of the region:

  1. Yusuf Sulayman San’ad, Secretary of Public Affairs
  2. Abdirizak Yusuf Mohamed, Secretary of Planning, Development and International Relations
  3. Abdisahal Jama Mohamed, Secretary of the Interior, Federation, and Reconciliation
  4. Abdirashid Mohamud Hambuse, Secretary of Finance
  5. Abdisatar Sheikh Osman Omar, Secretary of Trade, Industry, Investment, and Productivity
  6. Dahir Abdirisaq Ahmed, Secretary of Information, Telecommunication, and Technology
  7. Abdihakim Jama Dalmar, Secretary of Security
  8. Mohamud Yusuf Hassan, Secretary of Education, Culture, and Higher Education
  9. Abdikadir Abdi Warsame Digale, Secretary of Public Works, Transportation, and Reconstruction

The appointment of these secretaries signals a commitment to addressing key areas such as development, security, education, and reconciliation within the SSC regions and beyond. The upcoming vote of confidence will determine their ability to take on these vital roles and contribute to the growth and stability of the administration.

Rising tensions

Meanwhile, Somaliland has been intensively preparing for war. Its troops have deployed in Yeyle and Oog. In Yeyle, they allegedly set up a military base in Buq-Dharkayn village in collaboration with tribal militias. Residents have reported a noticeable increase in military activities and preparations, heightening concerns of an imminent conflict.

These developments follow our earlier report, where we highlighted the presence of Somaliland troops in the Oog district. These deployments indicate an impending resurgence of conflict between SSC-Khaatumo forces and the Somaliland army in the Sool region.
