President of HirShabelle State, Ali Gudlawe Hussein, announced new appointments to his cabinet, aiming to strengthen the government and promote effective governance. Hopes are high that the newly appointed ministers will bring fresh perspectives, skills, and energy to their respective portfolios, contributing to the overall progress and welfare of HirShabelle.

In his decree, President Gudlawe appointed the following individuals to key ministerial positions within the HirShabelle administration:
- Abukar Ahmed Ali ‘Dhaga-Gaab’ as the Minister of State in the HirShabelle Government;
- Abdihamid Mohamed Ali as the Minister for Disarmament and Rehabilitation of Militia in the HirShabelle Government;
- Abdifitah Jama Warsame as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning in the HirShabelle Government.
Their collective efforts will be crucial in advancing key sectors such as governance, security, rehabilitation, and strategic planning.
Gudlawe’s decision to appoint a deputy minister to the Ministry of Planning suggests his heightened focus on finetuning coordination and executing development plans. The new ministers and the entire cabinet must work diligently, collaboratively, and transparently to fulfil their responsibilities and serve the people’s interests.
Jowhar district dispute
HirShabelle’s governance has recently come under the spotlight for several reasons. The most recent case was the traffic blockage following a dispute over appointments in the Jowhar district. On Sunday, Owbakar Gabane clan members blocked the traffic near the Kongo checkpoint on the side towards Mogadishu.
The disruption stemmed from a dispute between Owbakar Gabane and the HirShabelle administration. It concerned the formation of the local council, which excluded Owbakar Gabane representatives from its composition.
Owbakar Gabane wanted to receive one seat of the ten allocated for the Abgal clan members. This was why they, in protest, blocked the road between Jowhar and Mogadishu. Yesterday, the movement returned to normal after Owbakar Gabane received a promise to get a seat in the local council.
